This workshop project addresses the visual composition of dance and performance in the city spaces of Berlin.
Each day begins with a warm-up in the studio to open our bodies to improvise and compose in front of a camera. We focus on Solo and small group compositions.
Looking at different places in the nearby city- surroundings, we work site specifically and engage in developing tools for the use of perspective and timing.
We use moving camera as much as still camera to create short video film- sketches in a team-work, (edited in-camera).
The main focus of the course is to develop individual skills in creating visual choreography as seen through the eye of a camera - finding your own way from an inspiration to visual realisation in a short-time-frame and as a team-work.
Workshop languages/Unterricht: Englisch/Deutsch, depending on the group
Please bring: • experience in moving, dancing, acting or similar • a strong desire to create
• your own camera (if you do not have one, please contact us beforehand)
note: Post-processing of the footage is not included in the workshop.
