Biography

Brenda Waite is a performer, teacher and director. With a background in physical theatre, mime and dance, her interest is in the expressive possibilities of the body in performance. She has created and toured performance work throughout Australia and Europe and collaborates with artists from theatre, dance, circus, film and visual art. She often works in non theatre spaces, creating intimate performance and location and context specific events. Brenda involves improvisation as a central element in her performance practise and regularly teaches classes and workshops in improvisational performance. From 1998- 2007 she established and facilitated the Flummery Room in Bristol, a space for artistic exchange and the development of performance and improvisational skills.
